TUB-DMP Data Privacy Statement

General regulations

General regulations can be viewed in the TU Berlin Data Privacy Statement.

The following regulations apply for TUB-DMP

Editing data

This data privacy statement applies to the web application of the research data management tool TUB-DMP at https://dmp.tu-berlin.de. TUB-DMP is operated by the University Library as part of the Service Center Research Data Management on the TU Berlin network and web servers.

TUB-DMP is used for the collaborative creation and editing of research data management plans. These include the description of technical and organizational measures for collecting, storing, securing, encrypting, evaluating and processing research data, as well as descriptions of the type and scope of these data. They further contain information on the researchers responsible for the research projects or research institutions. Data management plans serve as proof and documentation of scientific due diligence and are required by third-party funding bodies, among others.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Article 6 section 1 (1) (a) to (c) and (e) GDPR.

Location of storage and use of data for specific purposes

In compliance with the principle of purpose-bound data processing, we collect, process and store your personal data internally only (in the computer center of TU Berlin) and exclusively for the purpose you communicated to us. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. Your personal data will also only be passed on to state institutions and authorities requesting information within the framework of the legal obligations to provide information or in compliance with a court ruling.

We also take internal data protection very seriously. Our employees are obliged to maintain confidentiality and to comply with data protection regulations.

Collection and storage of usage data

TU Berlin members can register in TUB-DMP using their TU Berlin account. Depending on the web application, the following personal data are processed:

  • Account name of the person using the application
  • Role and group affiliations in the web application
  • Documents created by the user, typically with title, name and home organization of the persons involved in a research project

Personal data is transferred with the explicit consent of the user.

Storage period

Your TU Berlin account is deleted when you leave TU Berlin. Persons no longer at TU Berlin will be deleted in TUB-DMP.

Access to data management plans created by these persons is then no longer possible. If the ownership rights to a data management plan have not been transferred to another person before their departure, the data management plan is orphaned.

Evaluations

The web application does not use any analysis software for the statistical evaluation of accesses by the user.
